I thought would share a small history about myself and my art...
I have suffered almost twenty years of sudden episodic bouts (without warning) of severe back pain. As the years came and went these episodes would get more debilitating and far harder to recover from. So this past May 31st I had a surgical procedure that took over seven hours on the table of a spinal fusion of L4 to L5 and L5 to S1. This procedure promises to cure my two ruptured disc, spinal stynosis and the effects of some arthritis. Once I am fully recovered from the surgery itself there will be no more surprise break downs.
Week one and two were very hard but as I enter week five it is better. I am stuck wearing a back brace for twelve full weeks. Hate it! But the results are worth it in the end.
As for my art, I work in oils, colored pencil and acrylics for more formal works and comissions. I have a love for illustration and create ACEO artcards with mixed materials like prisma pens, graphite, and ink. But, my first love was pen-and-ink pointillism creating unique images from millions of dots.
I am delighted to share with the inspiration, connection and support of friends via TWITTER that my desire to get back into the studio has over-ridden the discomfort of sitting upright. I got back into the studio yesterday and also created the previous posted ArtCard of a colorful foal. The biggest news to share is that I started a new 8x10 pointillism of a racehorse in bridle head study. I felt like I found an old friend and don't want to let them go. Work in progress images to be shared soon.
Thanks for reading and never never take for granted how your art and a kind word can help a fellow artist find their way back.

FEELS GREAT TO CREATE
Thanks to all the inspiration and support via my TWITTER friends, I went into my studio yesterday and created this little ACEO gem. It was pretty hard on my back but I don't care. It just felt wonderful to create something again. Been way too long since my heart has desired to express itself once more via equine art. I am so happy!Sunday, May 24, 2009
